Created in 1847 as the main station of Christchurch,
Holmsley has seen royalty, mystery, Eisenhower and
finally the fall of Beeching’s axe, before being cast
as one of the New Forest’s most prized possessions
– an exquisite tea house and bistro to rival the best!
But there is more than just Darjeeling and scones
to our oasis in the forest...
A finely enhanced Victorian building, lovingly restored and
maintaining many original features, The Station House is the perfect
venue for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea, made using the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible.
Normally open 7 days a week, from 10am, we can cater for up to 70 people in our restaurant,
with a further 200 outside, either in our garden or under the station canopy.
Situated on the old railway line, we are in prime position for walkers, horse riders
and cyclists alike, as well as being easily accessible by road (sadly no longer by rail!)
from Christchurch, Ringwood or Lyndhurst.

Open in the evenings from June to August,
serving dinner from 6pm, Castletman’s at The Station House
offers a contemporary bistro-style menu using the finest
quality produce, meat, fish and game, sourced from within
the forest where possible, fine wines and the personal
service that has made us so popular over the years.
